Alleyne Wood Design

I am a Brisbane based landscape and interior designer who specialises in biophilic design.

As a designer with almost two decades of experience in the horticultural industry under my belt, I have made it my goal to design and create truly amazing landscapes and inspiring interiors that incorporate elements of the natural world.

I have created my website to contain my design portfolio and some of the past work I have done for clients.

With qualifications in landscape and interior design, horticulture and landscape construction, I have CAD software experience and received awards for my design work. With a keen eye for detail I really love to problem solve when it comes to designing difficult and unusual spaces. I have experience working with NDIS disability and aged care clientele with an interest in creating sensory gardens for therapy, education and for general enjoyment. I have a deep interest and extensive knowledge of plants and their culture, in my spare time I collect, breed and propagate rare aroids in my home greenhouses.

MOTIVATION:

I have always been inspired by the natural world and was lucky enough to grow up on a beautiful property surrounded by rainforest in the mid-north coast hinterland of NSW, Australia. I made the move to the city for work and study, though as time went on, I longed for nature. This catalysed my interest in creating landscapes and biophilic interiors.

There is no doubt that the natural environment is at critical risk, and we need to make some drastic changes in the way we shape our world at present. I believe green structures are imperative in the way forward for architecture and design and have been proven to improve our physical and mental health. I aim to try to improve people’s quality of life, where they can enjoy nature indoors as well as out, and have better access to clean air, food and water with innovative and well-planned design solutions.
